Free and Manhattan are two words rarely combined. There are parks and some pay-as-you-wish museums and now, we have the High Line. The High Line is a "1.45-mile-long elevated, steel structure built in the 1930s to carry
freight trains.The
last train ran on it in 1980," according to their website, www.thehighline.org. Be sure to peep the historical photos.
The walkway is dotted with flowers, great views of the water and the city and interesting seating situations. When I say interesting, I mean, skate-able. I am not sure who thought the grind-able wedge/transition on the benches would be a good idea, but some dudes are gonna love it around 9PM. I didn't see any skaters, but I did view an abundance of park rangers and HL volunteers telling folks to stay on the path.
It's an awesome place for a first date, a hot spot for people watching or a unique place to take the 'rents when they come to town! Overall, it was beautiful and I was inspired and happy. I think it was the sun, all of the colors, soooo many flowers and being with my dude and friends. Of course, there are more flower photos after the jump.

Flowers, leaves and succulents! It is no secret that Sonia and I are huge fans of flowers. We love getting and giving them! Here is a set of my photos from a recent trip to Berkeley, California. Within ten minutes from my friend's home, I captured all these glories. It what was suppose to be a dog walk, but it turned into a very fun photo expedition! Check 'em out. Can you pick out the state flower of California?

So a few weeks ago I convinced/forced the BF to get me one of Saipua's amazing bouquets. I don't know about you, but there's something about beautiful flowers that just makes me so happy. That week, whenever I woke up, I would open my eyes to my amazing anemone coronaria, antique roses, and tulips bouquet and I knew that no matter what the news told me about the economy it was going to be a good day.
The sad thing is that these bouquets don't last forever. I do have to say that some of the flowers in this bundle lasted a surprisingly long time -- over a week! After the jump some more photos of my amazing bouquet...

I am so in love with this flower. The arrangement in this photo, blogged on Design*Sponge, makes me lust for it even more. The flower is the Anemone Coronaria. These flowers are available from November to April. They come in shades of white, blue, pink or red, and are distinguished by their blue/black center.
Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua in Red Hook, Brooklyn made the arangments found in this post. For the large bouquet she used added quince blossoms, salmon
parrot tulips, poppies, roses, and eucalyptus. Love, love, love! Two more photos after the jump.
